• Started for a customer of Jim McQuillan's who needed access to an AS400 and an SCO OpenServer system.

• Jim felt that OSS would be a good choice to start.

• Diskless workstations == cheaper.

• linuxdoc.org had a diskless node how-to for one node but not many.
