Legato provides basic data protection and availability at the decentralized workgroup and department levels. Prior to a number of key technology acquisitions, this is where the old Legato has been positioned (and quite successfully!).
However, a large majority of our customers ultimately require solutions that serve decentralized and centralized environments, as well as across the entire enterprise. This is why Legato has widened its technology focus to provide advanced data and application availability software products spanning DAS, NAS, SAN architectures.
