About Us:

The Yorktown High School Libre User Group is an organization with the aim of promoting GNU/Linux and other free software, in addition to free documents, educational materials, and other forms of libre. It was founded in January 2000 by a then Yorktown student, Jason Straw, a community member, Vince Hickey, and a teacher, Jeffrey Elkner. Its current student coordinators are Matthew Gallagher(YHS Class of 2009) and Thomas Doggette(2008).

As always, the YHSLUG hopes to gain community support and maintain ties with the DCLUG and other organizations. This is not just an organization for Yorktown High School, but the entire Arlington, VA and world libre community.
